Privacy, in plain language.

Kintress introduces you to one person worth meeting in real life. To do that well we keep a little about you and almost nothing else. Here is exactly what that means — written from how Kintress actually works, not from a lawyer's wish-list.

What we keep

• Your profile — the name you give us, your date of birth (used only to work out your age; the date itself is never shown to anyone), your gender, and the short things you type about yourself, who you'd like to meet, and what you'd like to do.
• A photo, if you add one. We run an on-device check that a human face is present — that's all: never your gender, age, or identity. It is only ever shown after you and someone else both say yes.
• Your non-negotiables and lifestyle answers — used privately to keep incompatible intros away. They are never shown to anyone.
• When you're free to meet (rough weekly slots) so intros are with people you could actually see.
• Your city / area — a city-level bucket so we only suggest people close enough to meet. See below on what we deliberately do not keep.
• Our conversation state — enough to hold your place in the chat.
• Our chat history — while your account is active we keep the messages we exchange so your introductions keep getting better. Anything you type is stored screened (protected categories stripped) and a location you share is kept only as a rough area label, never as coordinates. When you delete, this history is scrubbed into anonymous memory and then erased (see below).

Taking a break — pause

Not sure you want to leave for good? Just say pause. You instantly vanish from matching in both directions — no cards, no reminders, nothing running — and nothing is erased and no clock starts. Say resume whenever you're ready and you're back (we'll re-check when you're free first). Take all the time you need.

What we never keep

• No precise location tracks. When you share your location we resolve it to a city/area and throw the exact coordinates away — we never store a precise point or follow you around.
• No selling or ad-profiling of your data, ever.

The reveal ladder

Everything is need-to-know. Before a mutual yes, the person you're introduced to sees only a name-free "why you two" and the things you chose to share — never your name, your photo, or your exact distance. Your name and photo are revealed only after you both accept. Passing on someone is always silent and private.

On-box processing

The matchmaking and language understanding run on Kintress's own machine against local models — no third-party AI or cloud service receives your messages or your profile. Every intro is a suggestion you actively Accept; nothing about a real meeting is decided solely by a machine.

Deleting — a formal request

Deletion is permanent, so we make it deliberate and impossible to trigger by accident or by someone impersonating you. The chat can't delete your account — it can only start the process. When you tell Kintress "delete my account", it offers you a pause first, then hands you a one-time code and asks you to email it to us:

1. Email [email protected] from any address.
2. Include the one-time code Kintress gave you — it proves the request really comes from you (an email alone, from anyone who merely knows your number, can never delete you). The code is valid for 30 days.
3. Say if you also want the anonymous learnings erased too — by default we keep only what our conversations taught us, never who you are (see below).

A dedicated privacy process handles it from there — separate from the chat bot.

• 30-day grace. On receipt your account is paused and recoverable for 30 days — message "restore" and it comes back as it was (that also cancels the request). After that it is permanently erased: your profile, photo, availability, preferences and our whole conversation are gone for good.
• Any pending meetup is called off blamelessly — the other person is only told you're no longer available.
• Scrubbed memory, by default. Before your words are erased, we run them through an on-device de-identification pass — twice, and when in doubt we drop the line — so the substance of what our conversations taught us survives as anonymous, unlinkable notes, but never who you are. If you'd rather leave nothing at all, say erase everything in your email and even that anonymous memory is skipped.
• Anonymised statistics stay. Outcomes and match patterns live on with your identity and all free text fully stripped out, so Kintress keeps getting better at introductions. Nothing in them can identify you — the learning is in the pattern, not the person.
• A block outlives a deleted account. If someone blocked you, we keep a one-way hash of your number (never the number itself) so that block still holds if you sign up again — that's the only thing tying back to you, and it can't be reversed into a phone number.
